Name after Alexander Haughton Campbell Gardner, an eccentric Scottish American. Who became a soldier of fortune in Afghanistan. Commanding one hundred and eighty Afghan horsemen for the nephew of Dost Mohammed Kahn in insurrection against his
aforementioned uncle and ruler of Kabul.
Gardner was famous for cladding himself from head to boot in traditional Afghan turban and robes, all of which were tartan! The sporran is named after him as its shares his Scottish and eastern influences. He’d have chosen this one...perhaps?
The sporran is made of white goat hair with a scroll cantle design cut out of Ox horn, the brass cantle has hand turned horn finials, the sporran is compleate with gold tassels and grosgrain belt.
The pouch body is made of Italian leather and a green sued lining. The sporran is sold in a solid oak case, so that you cna pass this hierloom down to future generations.
